Jerusalem was shocked at home against a game Haifa side that came out flying winning away by 15 points. With Haifa ending the half with a one point advantage 41:40, Rami Hadar’s side out the smack down on Hapoel in half number two as Gregory Vargas led the way with 22 points as Oz Blayzer added 17 points in the win. Josh Duncan dropped 17 points in the loss.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 82-83 Kiryat Gat
Wily veteran Meir Tapiro nailed the winning shot as time expired to send The Reds to a shocking loss to newly promoted Kiryat Gat. Tapiro and Romero Osby ended the game with 17-points a piece while John Williamson led the hosts with 21 points.
Kfar Saba 80-86 Maccabi Ashdod
The host Leumit side battled all game but came up short against Tzvika Sherf’s team falling by six points. Vernon Teel contributed 26 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort while Charles Thomas with 18 points and Or Solomon’s 16 points gave Ashdod the victory.
Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 89-83 Hapoel Eilat
Rishon Le’Zion exacted revenge on Eilat in an Israel State Cup clash after falling to the seaside club this week in League play. Shawn Dawson’s double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds led the Oranges to the win while Mark Lyons dished out 9 assists. Israeli veteran Afik Nissim went a perfect 4/4 from 3-point land for an 18 point total but it was not enough to help his side to victory.
Ironi Nahariya 85-88 Bnei Herzliya
A monster 31-21 fourth quarter helped the visiting Herzilya team to the win. Andrew Crawford provided the offensive spark for Herzliya scoring 26 points while Cameron Clark’s 29 points and 10 boards led Nahariya.
Hapoel Galil/Gilboa 61-83 Maccabi Tel Aviv
The Yellow-and-Blue had 5 players in double digits with Guy Pnini leading the way dropping 19 points. Arinze Onuaku and Sylven Landesberg each scored 12 points in the win with Galil/Gilboa getting 23 points from Jason Siggers and a double-double from Demetrius Treadwell with 13 point and 15 reounds.
Migdal HaEmek 71-86 Ironi Nes Ziona
The Super League side Nes Ziona had an easy time playing away against second division Migdal HaEmek winning by 15 points. Cameron Jones scored 17 points in the win.
Ramat Gan/Givatayim 104-98 Hod HaSharon
In an all Leumit matchup that went to overtime it was all Yoad Beit Yosef who scored 43 points for the victors.
