1) The Transfer Window in Israel has closed and their were a number of moves just before the deadline:
Dia Saba moves from Maccabi Netanya to Hapoel Beer Sheva
Guy Melamed goes from Hapoel Beer Sheva to Maccabi Netanya
Motti Bershatsky went from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Maccabi Netanya
Caio goes from Maccabi Haifa to Hapoel Tel Aviv
Stav Finish moves from Bnei Yehuda to Maccabi Netanya
2) Hapoel Holon held their opening press conference for the upcoming campaign and Head Coach Dan Shamir spoke about the season ahead, “This is my third season with Holon and this will be a different team than all of the others. We keep expanding and we are continuing to take yet another step forward which won’t be simple after winning the State Cup and playing in the Final last season. It’s hard to ask for better season than we had last year, so we at least have to perform like we did last season. I hope we can also play well in Europe.”
Nes Tziona BC held their season opening press conference. Head Coach Nadav Zilberstein looked at the campaign ahead: “When we built the team we made sure to put together a group of players who are both containing with the teams and some younger players. I want players who enjoy playing the game and I want them to play for the city and give it all on the court for our fans.”
3) The Israel National Basketball Team returned back to Israel and Tomer Ginat who missed hitting the rim on his second foul shot with 0.4 seconds left spoke to the media, “We all knew I had to hit the rim, I tried but I missed and from there the rest is history. It was bad luck but we have to look ahead. We played well and we proved that the younger generation of players have something to give and to learn.”
