1) The Israel Basketball National Team played an exhibition game against Ukraine on Friday in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers against Greece on June 28th and Great Britain on July 2nd. The Blue & White fell to Ukraine 85-83 as Rich Howell scored 17 points while Jake Cohen added 17 of his own in the defeat. Height advantage was the name of the game as Ukraine had plenty of it as outrebounded Israel 55-26 as the Blue & White didn’t do themselves any favors from 3-point range going an abysmal 4/23 from long distance. Israel had a chance to steal the win but missed a pair of last gasp 3-pointers. I’ll have a more in depth analysis of the game on Sunday so stay tuned.
2) Every Friday The Sports Rabbi will have a column in The Jerusalem Post. This week’s feature is about Israel’s next NBA hope, Tomer Levinson. Last night the NBA held their draft in which Luka Doncic was the 3rd overall pick and then was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to tne Dallas Mavericks. How will Levinson stack up down the road and why is he playing in Croatia? Check it out!
