Israel defeated Dominican Republic 80-76 to finish the group stage with a 3-0 record at the Under-19 World Championship in Lausanne, Switzerland. The blue-and-white grabbed an early lead thanks to Tamir Gold but Fernando De Los Santos, Jhon Estrella and Lucas Morrilo kept the game close, however, Rany Belaga, Omer Mayer, Ariel Sela and Oren Sahar all scored with ease down the stretch to close out the victory.

Next up for Israel will be a Round of 16 Knockout game against Cameroon on Wednesday and should they win that game a quarterfinal matchup will be on tap for Friday against the winner of the Argentina and Slovenia game.

Belaga scored 16 points, Sahar added 16 points, Mayer put in 15 points as Sela scored 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the win. De Los Santos scored 25 points, Morillo chipped in with 17 points ass Estrella scored 15 points in the low.

Tamir Gold and Aviv Henkin scored for Israel early on while Fernando De Los Santos and Lucas Morillo answered for the Dominican Republic, however, Omer Mayer and Oren Sahar also found points to give the blue-and-white a 26-17 lead after ten minutes of play. Danny Carbuccia started to find the bottom of the basket, Ariel Sela responded, but Jhon Estrella and Morillo cut the advantage down to 42-38 at halftime.

Rany Belaga and Adrian Brito traded baskets, while Omer Mayer and Yenndy Baez did the same, De Los Santos filled the bucket as Estrella pulled the Dominican Republic to within 62-60 after thirty minutes of action. Belaga and Sela opened the fourth quarter with points, Sahar also added a number of baskets as De Los Santos tried to keep his squad close with a pair of later triples, but the blue-and-white held on to close out the win.
