Maccabi Tel Aviv guard Lorenzo Brown in discussions with Olympiacos

Olympiacos, who are currently participating in the Greek League final series is already working on strengthening their team for next season and are in talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv star Lorenzo Brown, first learned by “The Sports Rabbi” in collaboration with Tomer Givati from “Israel Hayom”.

In recent months, the floor general also has held talks with Real Madrid, but the Spanish side were not ready to commit allowing the Greeks to enter the picture as they are interested in adding the point guard whose future with the yellow-and-blue is not yet known. This past Euroleague season Brown averaged 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.

In recent weeks, Maccabi Tel Aviv has been preparing for the possibility that Brown will depart over the summer due to the security situation and the effects of the war. Brown’s contract, which is estimated at 1.5 million dollars per season, may be difficult for the yellow-and-blue to manage due to losses and budget issues having not played at home in continental competition. Should a good offer come their way, Maccabi may be willing to part ways with one of their stars.

Keenan Evans had been one of the leading candidates who was supposed to make his way to Olympiacos, but the former Maccabi guard seriously injured his leg a few weeks ago and will be out for several months.
