Israel’s champions are on the verge of crashing out of European competition after falling to a narrow two-point loss in Lithuania.
Despite a big second half which Hapoel Jerusalem won by 12 points, they came up just short in a 87-85 defeat against Neptunas Klaipeda.
D’or Fischer banged in a massive 26 points with six rebounds, while E.J Rowland took 19 points and Donta Smith pulled down 10 rebounds for the Reds. Neptunas’ Daniel Ewing took 20 points while four other players broke double figures for the home side.
The Reds’ coach Danny Franco said after the match: “We lost a big game tonight. We were ready for this match, but Neptunas made a lot of three-point shots and led in the game. We came back in the last quarter, but we missed our last 2 shots and lost the game.”
