The Israel National Basketball Team plays Romania in Eurobasket 2021 qualification action on Monday night (19:00) at the Drive In Arena in Tel Aviv as the Blue & White look to move to 2-0 after defeating Poland last Thursday.
FIBA President Hamane Niang will be in attendance for the clash as will Golden State Warriors brass Mike Dunleavy Jr, Larry Harris and Kosta Jankov to also watch 2020 NBA Draft Lottery prospect Deni Avdija who spoke to the media ahead of the game, “I want to continue to play the way I know how to. We want give the fans a good show and the most important thing of course is to win the game. Every National Team game is of the highest importance and we will give 100% of ourselves and do exactly what we do in practice. It’s a huge honor for me to represent the National Team and it’s not difficult to adjust as we all know each other. It won’t be the first time NBA staff will be watching me play and it isn’t something that will bother me.”
Head Coach Oded Katash looked ahead to Romania, “They will come into the game with a lot of energy and height as well. We will have to know how to deal with their height and in order for us to succeed we will need a full arena that will give us a good vibe. Emanuel Cățe is a very good technical player with height who plays for Murcia and was in Real Madrid’s youth system. He’s their most dangerous player in my opinion.”
