Maccabi Tel Aviv stormed to the top of the league with a huge 103:63 home win over Maccabi Haifa as new boss Zan Tabak’s changes show some early success.
The Yellows really showed the aggressivenesses that their new Croatian coach wanted to bring with a dominating performance. They scored over 30 points in the first and third quarters and over 20 in the second and fourth.
Jordan Farmer was the top scorer for Maccabi with 18 points but it was a really big team performance from the Yellows, no one player really stood out but the hosts put in huge stats with a triple-figure scoreboard as well as 45 rebounds
Hapoel Jerusalem also put in an impressive home performance as they took a 99:73 win against Hapoel Eilat. The Reds were led by a dominating Josh Duncan performance as he picked up 25 points with 11 rebounds while Bar Timor took a career high 23. Alade Aminu netted 20 for Eilat. The visitors dropped down to ninth while Hapoel Jerusalem now sit in fifth place, two points off Maccabi.
Ironi Nahariya kept their second place position with a 70-61 win over Hapoel Holon. Cameron Clark put on an excellent display for Ironi taking 24 points with 11 rebounds as Holon stay bottom of the table.
Third-place Maccabi Ashdod beat Maccabi Kiryat Gat in a thrilling encounter as the home side came from seven points behind at the start of the fourth quarter to take a 90-89 victory. Charles Thomas put in a big performance for the home side with 26 points and eight rebounds helping them to victory.
Maccabi Rishon LeZion took a narrow 68-65 win against Ironi Nes Ziona. Darryl Monroe was the star player for the visitor’s with 25 points and 14 rebounds to help keep Maccabi in fourth place.
Bnei Herzilya defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 70-68 with a nine-point turnaround in the final quarter. Stephen Dennis took 26 points for Herzilya while James Singleton netted 16 with 12 rebounds.
