Inter Aliyah 80-66 Hapoel Yafo: 5th win in a row keeps club in contention for promotion push

Mar 2, 2022 | Holyland Hoops

Inter Aliyah took on Hapoel Yafo at home on Wednesday evening after having won all 4 games since the second half of the season began. Inter had beaten Yafo on the road earlier in the season and with almost a full roster at Head Coach AJ Mitnick’s disposal, confidence was high heading into the game.

The hosts raced out to a first-quarter lead quickly, asserting their dominance over Yafo, with the likes of Jake Pemberton (18 points) and Sam Roche (13) scoring at will. Both Barak Swarttz (11) and Amishav Weinstein (10) would also reach double figures over the course of the game while Zack Goldberg scored his first points for the squad.

At one point during the course of the game, the lead ballooned to 32 points and Yafo never really looked like they would mount a comeback although they did cut the lead down during the closing stages of the game.

With the victory Inter’s record moves to 11-4 for the season and are still within range of the all-important 1st place on the table and potential promotion to Liga Alef.
