The Sports Rabbi spoke to Peristeri’s new addition DeAndre Kane at this morning’s practice ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 Playoff series against Hapoel Jerusalem. The former Maccabi Tel Aviv guard looked at the matchups and spoke about how he feels returning to Israel”

“It’s feels good. Always being back in the country is a good feeling. I like this country and it’s always treated me good. I’m just trying to come here and get a win.”

The keys to the game:
“I don’t know of they changed their system or not but we have to stop their threes and we know they can really score a lot. They have players like Brown, Feldeine Thomas, Blatt and Mack, they can really shoot the threes. For us we have to try and stop them in transition and get back in defense, force them to make contested shots and make them play defense. They are a team that scores a lot of points but they also gave up a lot of points.”

Getting back into game shape:
“I’m still trying to get into a rhythm of things and haven’t played in 6-7 months. I’ve only played two games with this team and I’m still getting into a rhythm but I’ll be fine.”

About his new club:
“Yanick Moreira big man is really good inside. Stevie Gray is about elite scorer but really our whole team. We have guys that can do a lot of different things on the court so we look forward to competing.”

Coach Nikos Papanikolopoulos:
“Of course he’s a good coach he’s great.”
