Hapoel Beer Sheva sunk Hapoel Eilat 96-85 as the southern reds grabbed a 21-15 lead after the first quarter and never looked back to take the win. Grant Sherfield scored 24 points, Egor Koulechov added 18 points and Joaquin Szuchman chipped in with 17 points in the win. Deishuan Booker and Elijah Stewart each scored 19 points while Andrew Smith added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

“We have been working really hard and we trying to do the best with the team we have here,” Beer Sheva bench boss Yoav Shamir began. “But with everything going on we have to really work with them and look at the positives, I really have to give credit to everyone the staff and the players who did a great job in this game.”

“I have a very good group but they are in trouble,” Eilat head coach Max Menneti said. “We are playing games and not practicing enough and the results of that are what you see on the floor. We are frustrated but we are trying to improve. We have some young Israeli players who are playing with responsibility for the first time.”

Egor Koulechov reflected on the win, “It was a good win and in our losses we didn’t look good,. We had toggle a push to show what we have been working on. We need to work on our defensive rebounds but we are getting there. Then start of the season wasn’t ideal as we had a coaching change but we are working hard.”
