“It wasn’t pretty but we found a way to win,” Maccabi head coach Oded Katash said. “The pressure was on us especially at this time of the season. I can say as a coach that we need some energy but I need to take responsibility for the way the game plan was in the first half which wasn’t the right one. We changed it and the way we wanted to play on defense and forced the guys to play with more energy and that is on me.”

“I think for a lot of minutes the offense effected the defense for some players that really impacted the other side of the court. We showed character and we played against a really good team who have played really well, we have to give them credit and I’ll take the W,” Katash concluded.

“I’m proud how the guys fought but it wasn’t enough,” Villeurbanne head coach Pierric Poupet said. “We lacked some rebounds in the first half and we can think we lost the game in the second half but it’s the little details along the way. It was a good game but not enough, we have to play another game in 48 hours. Any mistake we made Wade Baldwin took advantage, great players make great plays.”

The game MVP Wade Baldwin spoke about the win, “We continue to find a way to win games and close games. We get rebounds, we get stops, we have guys committed to do the right things and to play hard when we need to. We are competing to be a top 6 team to stay out of the Play In and that was a good push to get there.”

Josh Nebo also discussed the victory, “I think we just found way. The game wasn’t pretty and we didn’t play our best basketball but we found way to win which is the most important thing right now. Just competing playoff defense, getting defections, rebounding and just staying together.”
