Idan Zalmanson has played for the Under-16 and Under-18 Israel National Teams in the past and will now look to make an impact on the senior team. The 6″9 center currently plays for Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion but his pro career began with the Yellow & Blue of Maccabi Tel Aviv. Having also played for Bnei Herzliya the 22-year old earned rave reviews tis past season in the Israel Basketball Super League.
The honor:
“It’s a big and important honor for me personally to represent my country. I can’t wait for the Eurobasket to start.”
Month of preparation:
“It’s a chance to connect and to get to know each other. It also allows us to get to know the coaches and understand their demands. They are an amazing staff.
Having the tournament in Israel:
“It will give us a real push to be able to see all of our fans right here at home in Israel. We are very excited.”
Basketball dreams:
“It was a dream of mine to be able to represent Israel on the National Team. However, now we have a job to go out, win games and succeed in the Blue & White jersey.”
