The Israel Women’s National Basketball Team participated in the 2027 European Championship second stage qualifying draw after having recently finished the first stage with a perfect 6-0 record. The blue-and-white, who were ranked in the fourth a lowest seeding pot despite their excellent opening stage results were drawn into Group I along with Turkey, Montenegro and Poland.

The next international window will take place in November, followed by the final window in February 2027. Each window will include three games and the top two teams from each qualifying group will advance to the 2027 European Championship, which will be held next summer.

Shira Haelion, the head coach of the Israel National Team commented about the draw, “This is a challenging and interesting draw. Our opponents in the group are quality teams with tradition, which makes sense at this stage of the second group qualifiers. Each of the teams have a high quality naturalized player, along with many talented EuroLeague players. This is indeed the level we aspire to be as a national team. We will come to prove ourselves and earn our place among the top 16 teams in Europe. It will be a very challenging mission, but we have already proven that when we are united as a team toward a common goal, anything is possible.”
