Maccabi Tel Aviv welcomed Keaton Wallace to Israel as the guard landed at Ben Gurion airport on Tuesday afternoon. The 27-year old played for the Atlanta Hawks and also featured for their G-League team over the past two seasons.

The University of Texas San Antonio product spoke about joining the yellow-and-blue as he met the fans in the arrivals hall, “There’s a lot of people here today! I was told that there’s not that many people at the airport, it’s crowded and I lost my bags but I’m ready to get to work.

“I know Maccabi has a lot of history with basketball here, a lot of success. So, I’m ready to get to work and be a part of that culture. I’m ready to get back on the court, get back getting up and down, you know, get in the weight room. Meet my teammates, meet my coaching staff, things like that. So, I’m ready to get to work.

As for coming to Israel for his first experience playing abroad, Wallace is happy to be able to ply his trade in one of the greatest cities in the world, “I’ve heard nothing but great things about Tel Aviv. Nobody’s ever said anything bad. So, I’m excited to see. I’m here now, so I’m excited to see what everybody’s been talking about. You know, I’m ready.”

“I’m ready to get to work, get with my teammates, get with the coaching staff. Start practicing, start training camp. So, we all gel together and we build chemistry and when we get on the court, our work is going to show.”
