Maccabi trounces overmatched Holon 103-65, Deni Avdija & Amar’e Stoudemire star in the victory

Amar’e Stoudemire and Deni Avdija set the pace early on for Maccabi, but Jermaine Love provided a boost off the bench to supplement Jimmy Hall and Desi Washington’s scoring for Holon as the visitors held a 22-21 lead after ten minutes of action.

Scottie Wilbekin got busy in the second quarter as the guard found the bottom of the basket for 8 points and dished out 5 helpers while Yovel Zoosman also scored half a dozen points to give Ioannis Sfairopoulos’s squad a 47-40 advantage at halftime.

The Yellow & Blue rattled off a 17-2 run to start the 3rd quarter as Wilbekin put in a layup which led to back to back dunks by Quincy Acy & Stoudemire. That was followed by a layup from Zoosman and seven points by Avdija to give Maccabi a 64-42 lead midway through the frame. Sfairopoulos’s team continued to pour it on as Jake Cohen got into the act to give Maccabi a 80-48 lead after thirty minutes.

The 4th quarter produced garbage time galore as Maccabi kept pouring on the offense as youngsters Dori Sahar and Yonatan Atias got some minutes and Acy scored at will in the 38 win.
