Zalgiris 66-73 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv continued their winning ways this time with their 3rd victory in a row defeating Zalgiris Kaunus 73-66 in Lithuania. Sylven Landesberg led all scorers with 20 points as red hot Jeremy Pargo added 12 points & 8 assists while Alex Tyus blocked 6 shots while scoring 12 points as well. Maccabi spotted the hosts an 8-2 lead to begin the game, but Joe Alexander (4pts) helped Maccabi pull even by the end of the 1st quarter 22-22.

Zalgiris jumped out to a 37-28 lead midway through the 2nd quarter and looked to run away from the reigning European Champions but Landesberg, Brian Randle & Yogev Ohayon brought Maccabi back into the game and headed into the lockerroom at the half 40-37. After going down at the end of the 3rd quarter, Maccabi revved up the engines for the final 10 minutes and outscored Zalgiris 25-14 led by Alex Tyus, Pargo & Landesberg again to take the 7 point win on the road and move to 3-1 good for 2nd place. Next week Real Madrid will visit Tel Aviv as it will be a 1 vs. 2 showdown for the top spot in the group.
