Maccabi Netanya blanked Hapoel Petach Tikva 2-0 as Dor Hugi and Matheus Davo scored in the Toto Cup victory. Hugi opened the scoring for the diamond city side when the striker pounded home a loose ball in the box after Yarin Abuheitzera’s attempt had been blocked by the Petach Tikva defense in the 8th minute while Davo doubled the lead later on in the second half to close out the 2-0 win.

Maccabi Netanya Head Coach Roni Levy spoke about the win, “It was a good win and we are still preparing for the league season, but we had a great crowd here and we are slowly but surely developing into the team that we want to be. There is a process in building this team and we are content as to how we are continuing to see how the players are working together on both ends of the pitch.”

Hapoel Petach Tikva Head Coach Omer Peretz commented on the match, “We aren’t there yet and it’s taking time. The second half we saw that we were better than we were in the first but we are also still filing out of squad which is fairly short right now. We knew that we had to add players to the team before the match so that was not something new, but it’s a long season and we have time to jell together and bring in players.”

Amit Cohen reflected on the victory, “One of the goals for this game was not to concede and we knew that we were going up against a very talented team but we were able to keep the clean sheet. We want to raise the level of play and we can do that. One of the great parts of our team is that we have a great mix of veterans and youngsters that have grown up in the youth department. They can all play together and they are all so talented that they feed off one another.”

Hapoel Ramat Gan and Hapoel Petach Tikva played to an entertaining 2-2 draw as Amit Tzur scored deep into second half injury time to snatch a point in Toto Cup group stage play. Mohamed Diab opened the scoring for the capital city reds as he found the back of the goal in the box but Ofek Obadiah drew Ramat Gan even in first half injury time to head into the break deadlocked at 1-1. Andrew Idoko sent a screamer from more 30 meters out into the back of the goal to give Jerusalem a 2-1 lead in the 85th minute but deep into second half stoppage time Amit Tzur put home the ball from inside the area to split the points.
