Maccabi Haifa blanked Kfar Qasem 2-0 as Michael Ohana scored in the first half and new recruit Cedric Don found the back of the goal in second half injury time to close out the clash and punch the Greens ticket to the Israel State Cup semifinals.

Haifa Head Coach Barak Bachar spoke about the win, “It’s the cup competition and we knew it would be difficult. We faced a very good team that defended well. We didn’t create as many chances as we wanted, but we still did our job and now we’re already looking ahead to the league match on Saturday.”

Kfar Qasem bench boss Taleb Tawatha shared his thoughts, “We played against the team in the best form in the Israel Premier League. We dreamed, we wanted it, but in the end the higher-quality team won. We hoped for a sensation, but that’s football.”

Michał Ohana commented on the victory, “I’m very happy. Barak and the staff prepared us very well for this match. There are no easy games, especially not in the cup. We really, really want to win the cup; it’s a dream for all of us. We’ll prepare for the next match and do everything to make the fans and ourselves happy.”
