Israel fell to Great Britain in dramatic fashion 76-74 in Women’s Eurobasket 2019 Qualifiers at the Drive In Arena in Tel Aviv as they record moves to 2-2 in Group D good for third place behind 3-1 Greece and Great Britain. Alysha Clark scored 20 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out 7 assists while Katia Levitsky also scored a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Shay Doron who was making her National Team Comeback dropped 14 points as point guard Naama Shafir scored 13 points in the defeat. Stephanie Collins and Temitope Fagbenle paced Great Britain with double-doubles of their own 19p/10r and 21p/14r respectively.
In a back and forth contest that went down to the wire, Doron had a chance to tie up the game but her last gasp layup went off the rim and into the waiting hands of Fagbenle as time expired. Israel will regroup and head to Portugal and Greece for the final two games on November 17th and November 21st later in the year.
