Maccabi Haifa 5:0 Hapoel Ashkelon
The Greens blew away an overmatched Hapoel Ashkelon side by five as Eliran Atar scored a brace and San Menachem, Glynor Plet with a header and Gili Vermouth via penalty defeated Yuval Naim’s club at Sammy Ofer Stadium.
Beitar Jerusalem 2:2 Bnei Yehuda
Itay Shecter opened the scoring in the 5th minute but Bnei Yehuda scored two quick goals at the start of the second half to take the lead through Almog Bozaglo and Marko Jovanovic. However, Idan Vered’s late strike saved Beitar and helped split the points for Ran Ben Shimon’s squad.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 1:1 Hapoel Kfar Saba
The Reds took a first half lead as Claudiu Bumba scored to give Tel Aviv a lead, however, veteran defender Dusan Matovic’s scorcher from outside of the box helped his team split the points for Coach Sharon Mimer.
Maccabi Petach Tikva 2:1 Kiryat Shemona
Guy Melamed took advantage of some Kiryat Shemona defensive errors as he scored a second half brace to take the three points at the Moshava Stadium. Pereira had equalized but Melamed made sure that his squad would head temporarily into first place prior to the Hapoel Beer Sheva v Maccabi Tel Aviv match.
Bnei Sakhnin 2:1 Hapoel Haifa
Yossi Abuksis and his Sakhnin outfit picked up three important points on goals by Yuval Abidor and Jude Nworoh. Nips Capiloto was only able to get one marker back for the visitors as coach Eli Cohen sits on the hot seat for Yoav Katz’s Club.
