The Israel Women’s National Basketball Team recorded its fifth win in as many games with a 76-52 victory over Luxembourg, securing the top spot in 2027 European Championship Qualification group play. On Tuesday, they will play their final game of the first group stage against Ireland on the road in Latvia.

Israel continued its excellent campaign on Saturday night in Group A action with a convincing win over Luxembourg. The blue-and-white controlled the game throughout and benefited from balanced scoring across the roster. Gili Eisner distributed the ball to perfection to get the game underway while Daniel Raber, Tzlil Vaturi, Shir Tirsoh and Alyssa Baron all contributing to give Israel a 42-29 advantage at halftime.

Shira Helicon’s team continued their outstanding offensive play and effectively put the game away with points from Dorian Dahan Sujic while at the same time, the team’s defense worked excellently throughout the game, forcing no fewer than 28 turnovers from their opponent. The victory guarantees Israel first place in the group even before Tuesday’s game against Ireland, which will conclude the first group stage. Baron scored 14 points, Dahan-Sujic added 13 points and Raber put in 12 points in the win.

Shir Tirosh spoke about the win, “We played a very good defensive game and we took care of the rebounds. I’m really proud of everyone as we all contributed to the win. This was a real team win and now it’s on to the next game. We’re happy that we took first place in the group which was a goal of ours from the start of the campaign.”
