Maccabi Tel Aviv looked like the Maccabi of old as they demolished an overmatched Hapoel Beer Sheva 96-64. Yovel Zoosman scored an early 9 points as the Yellow & Blue cruised the rest of the way to take the 32-point win. Michael Roll scored 17 points, Zoosman added 14 points, Jake Cohen chipped in with 13 points and Alex Tyus recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jakim Donaldson led Beer Sheva with 17 points and Kerron Johnson scored 15 points in the loss.
Hapoel Jerusalem dropped Nes Ziona 100-73 at the Pais Arena. James Feldeine once again was the star of the show as number 14 scored at will in the first quarter to put the Reds in front for good. Feldeine ended the game with 24 points, Josh Owens scored 16 points and Amare Stoudemire added 14 points in the win. Guard Yogev Ohayon became the 4th player in league history to score 1,000 points, grab 1,000 rebounds and dish out 1,000 assists. Talib Zanna led Nes Ziona with 18 points and Tal Dunne scored 17 points.
Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion led wire to wire as they defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 87-76. Cameron Long dominated the scoresheet with 29 points while Darryl Monroe came just one assist shy of a triple double as the big man scored 13 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and dished out 9 assists, Jamal Shuler led the way for the Reds with 17 points while a trio of other players had 13 points a piece in the defeat.
Maccabi Ashdod continued to climb the standings as they beat Bnei Herzliya 97-86. Ashdod set a team high in assists with 32 as Paul Stoll dished out 12 of them in the win. Mark Tollefsen went 6/7 from beyond the arc for 28 points while Nimrod Levi and Josh Carter each added 16 points for Brad Greenberg’s squad. Xavier Rathan-Mayes led Herzliya with 19 points in the defeat.
Hapoel Gilboa/Galil needed overtime to slip by Ironi Nahariya 96-93. The two squads headed into the extra period all knotted up at 83-83 but Bryant Crawford hit three late free throws to give Ariel Beit Halachmi’s Galilee team the win. Crawford ended the evening with 20 points and drew 9 fouls Greg Whittington scored 29 points while finishing the game with an index rating of 41 in the win. Anthony Barber scored 36 points to lead Nahariya.
