Maccabi Tel Aviv got back to their winning ways as they beat Hapoel Eilat by a 19 point difference 82-63. John DiBartolomeo scored 13 while Bolden and Karem Mashour scored 12 each to secure the win at home for the Yellow & Blue. Loyd was the top scorer for Eilat with 24 points.
Michael Roll spoke about the win over Eilat:
“We had good energy from everybody. We had fun. My shoulder is doing pretty well now and we are happy to see Karem play well.”
Hapoel Jerusalem 92-78 Nahariya
The Reds controlled the matchup throughout as they picked up the 14-point win. Kalin Lucas scored 20 points while dishing out 8 assists and Stratos Perperologou dropped 18 points in the win. Alex Young scored the bulk of the Nahariya points dropping 25 in a losing effort as Igor Nestrenko recorded a double double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Kalin Lucas:
“It was a team effort type of game and we were more consistent than the last time we played them. It was a team win and we played the whole 40 minutes. It was a good game.”
Recipe for success:
“We’ve been playing better and better and it starts with practice. If we keep bringing it to practice and do what we are doing and play our game with a lot of energy we will get better and better.”
Hapoel Holon hosted Hapoel Tel Aviv and came out as the big winners with clutch shooting in money time by Chanan Colman (9 pos), The Danish/Israeli guard made some very important shots in the final minutes of the game which gave Holon the victory 85-79. Glen Rice Jr was the MVP with 21 pts and 7 rebounds. Jerel McNeal scored 24 but it was just not enough for Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Maccabi Haifa came to Rishon Le’Zion hoping to win and get on the right track but once again ended up losing 87-73 and will need to figure out how to start picking up some victories as a top 8 spot is at risk for them. Drew Crawford (19 points) and Marc Tollefsen (17 points) secured a win for the home team as Zach Graham (18 pts) could not help Haifa avoid the loss.
Maccabi Ashdod are continuing the run towards a dream season as they beat Hapoel Gilboa/Galil by a convincing score of 81-64 at their home arena. Nimrod Levy is becoming one of the up and coming stars of the league as he led his side with 20 points. J’coven Brown led the Reds with 18 points and 7 assists.
Bnei Herzliya found the right rhythm by beating Nes Ziona in a close game that ended 86-82. Taureen Green who had a big 28 point game made a big difference for Herzliya. Daequan Cook scored 21 points but it was not enough for the home team.
