Hapoel HaEmek welcomed yet another one of their new players to Israel as Kyler Edwards landed in the Holy Land. The guard returns to the country for his second season after having played for Elitzur Netanya last year.

The Sports Rabbi met Edwards as he arrived and he was thrilled to be back and better than ever, ready to ply his trade for his new club, “I’m very excited. I’ve been waiting all summer since last year, and it’s going to be a fun year. It feels great to be back with a new team, new start and new teammates. I’m just excited to play.”

Head coach Sharon Avrahami told Edwards that he wants him to just be himself, “Just play my game and help the club get a lot of wins.” While the goals for the season are to advance to the postseason, “Playoffs for sure and making a big run. The biggest thing is just winning.”

As for a shot at winning the scoring title, Edwards wasn’t going to state that this was a top priority, “If it happens it happens, but if it doesn’t it’s ok. I just want to win.”
