Hapoel Tel Aviv cruises to win over Afula, Holon and Herzliya both victorious

Hapoel Tel Aviv cruised to a 93-81 win over Hapoel Afula as Bar Timor notched his career high in assists with 13 while six Reds finished in double-digits. Timor helped the hosts jump out to a a quick 33-18 lead after the first quarter as they never looked back in the win.

Dez Wells scored 18 points, Tomer Ginat added 16 points, while Timor chipped in with 13 points and 13 assists in the win. Cassius Stanley scored 26 points and Marcellus Earlington added 15 points in the loss.

“We spoke about how we wanted to start the game off before hand and we really executed this on the floor,” Hapoel coach Danny Franco said. “After the losing the Derby and coming into this game it would be natural to lose some of our energy but we really stayed with it and took the victory.”

“I think that we really used up a ton of energy to get back into the game after a very bad first quarter” Afula coach Roie Perel said. “At a certain point you run out of energy and when Dez Wells hit back to balk 3-pointers that was really the end of us. Hapoel is playing like a well oiled machine and they deserve a lot of credit for that.”

Bar Timor spoke about the game that was, “I don’t know if but was just this game but I have been doing a lot of work to make sure that I am really ready to contribute. It’s not easy to keep up at this pace but we do have a very deep squad so anyone can rise to the occasion on any given day. There are games every couple of days so there isn’t much time to celebrate the wins.”

Hapoel Holon overwhelmed Hapoel Haifa 84-71 as newcomer Kevin Hervey continues to impress for the purples while Netanel Artzi helped the visits build up the lead to double digits by halftime and cruise to the victory. Hervey scored 22 points, Drew Crawford added 19 points and Artzi scored 14 points in the win as Marcus Bingham scored 16 points and Amit Gershon chipped in with 13 points in the loss.

Bnei Herzliya defeated Hapoel Beer Sheva 87-78 as the hosts mounted a third quarter comeback to notch the win. Ethan Burg scored 23 points, Tyler Stone added 19 points and Marcus Carr scored 13 points in the win, while Egor Koulechov scored 16 points and JaKeenan Gant added 15 points in the loss.
