Hapoel Beer Sheva blanked Maccabi Haifa 1-0 thanks to a second half goal by Dan Bitton who now has 8 on the season as the southern reds snatched the 3-points.

Prior to the match Sun Menachem who recently retired had his career celebrated by the Greens faithful on the Sammy Ofer Stadium pitch.

Beer Sheva Head Coach Ron Kozuk spoke about the win, “I think it was a great game in seeing the character of players. The fans really kept the energy up and it was a European level game. It could have opened up but we had to take it step by step and wait for the right opportunity. We are always pressing high and we try to get to the goal as fast as possible in order to take advantage of an opportunity that may come about.”

Greens bench boss Diego Flores also shared his thoughts on the game, “I’m very disappointed with the result, we had chances before their goal and the attitude of the team was better than last match. It’s difficult to analyze the defeat when you are in it and get nothing. We need to keep working and ready for these types of matches.”
