Game Report: Jerusalem downs Rishon 93-86; Blatt, Holland & Terry star in Reds victory

Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 93-86 for their second victory in a week over the wine city squad. Tamir Blatt and John Holland kept the Reds in front for the majority of the contest while a game Zach Hankins and D’Angelo Harrison kept it close throughout the 40 minutes of action. However, Emanuel Terry’s big fourth quarter helped Jerusalem to the seven point win. Blatt scored 21 points and dished out 10 assists in an MVP performance, John Holland added 20 points while Emanuel Terry scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. D’Angelo Harrison led Rishon with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Zach Hankins chipped in with 20 points in the defeat.

Jerusalem picked up where they left off last game and controlled the first quarter which saw John Holland put down a mega dunk as Tamir Blatt, Nimrod Levi and Suleiman Braimoh hit a trio of triples while Zach Hankins was the main man for Rishon but the Reds led 25-15 after ten minutes of action.

D’Angelo Harrison took center stage in the second quarter as he scored at will to help Rishon pull even at 33-33 with 3:37 left in the half. Holland and Zalmanson made sure it didn’t stay tied for long as Jerusalem took a 40-36 advantage into the second half.

Blatt drilled a quartet of triples to start off the third quarter as Hankins, Harrison and Hamilton tried to keep the game close at 56-52 midway through the frame. Bar Timor and Holland kept finding the basket as Hamilton and Hankins did the same at the other end but Oded Katash’s squad continued to lead 67-63 after thirty minutes of play.

Hankins scored early and often in the 4th quarter while Holland and Blatt did the same for the Reds but a Oz Blayzer 3-pointer with 5 minutes left in regulation tied up the contest at 80-80. But Emanuel Terry and James Feldeine picked up points as the former put home an Alley-oop from Blatt and pulled down some key boards to wrap up the victory.
