Maccabi Tel Aviv star forward Omri Casspi flew to Newark, New Jersey Saturday night to have his knee injury examined by doctors in the United States to determine what the next steps will be in his recovery or if he will need surgery. The 10 year NBA veteran signed with the Israeli league champions this past summer and played in 6 Euroleague games this season, averaging 12 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Over in the Israeli league Casspi is averaging 9.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in six contests.
