Bnei Herzliya defeated Hapoel Haifa 101-90 to move their record to 2-2 early on in the season. Dan Shamir’s Herzliya squad came into the game with only 3 imports after Robert Carter signed in South Korea and with Ryan Boatright not being registered for the matchup. However, that did not matter as 37-year old Adrian Banks was lethal all game long while newcomer Marcus Carr as well as Willy Workman and Fred Bourdillon played final ball while Adonis Thomas came up big in the final frame to seal the win.
Thomas led the way for the visitors with 21 points (11p in the 4Q), Banks added 18 points, Carr scored 14 points while Workman and Carr each notched 13 points in the victory. Mike MCguirl continued his scoring spree with 30 points while Jon Davis added 24 points and Jackson Storm scored 12 points in the loss.
Adrian Banks sliced the basket, Sandy Cohen went from deep and Willy Workman did it all for Bnei Herzliya as they were able to overcome Mike McGuirl’s 14 first half points to grab a 50-35 advantage at halftime. Jon Davis helped cut down the lead for the Camel Reds but points from Fred Bourdillon, Banks and Workman kept the visitors in front 68-60 after thirty minutes of action.
Adonis Thomas got hot to begin the fourth quarter as he opened up a double-digit lead but David and McGuirl kept scoring to keep Guy Goodes’s team hanging around, however, Banks and Workman found the bucket to close out the victory.
