Beitar Jerusalem began its sixth day of training camp on Monday in Pravets, Bulgaria following a full day of rest on Saturday and a busy Sunday where the squad returned to an intensive training schedule that includes morning runs, three training sessions per day and several friendly matches before the camp concludes.

The yellow-and-black will head to Sofia Tuesday and play Arda whom they also faced during last year’s training camp. In addition, at the request of the coaching staff to add another match, Beitar will play another friendly on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against Kosovo’s Dukagjini, who finished fourth in their domestic league last season and will also compete in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

Luka Gadrani, Adi Yona and Tomer Yosefi are still training separately as they recover from injuries while Omer Atzili has returned to full training. Shon Weissman arrived at the camp in good physical condition and is almost up to speed training with the rest of the squad. The club’s new #19 has settled in well and is sharing a room with Eugene Ansah.

Training sessions are focused on endurance and implementing the team’s tactical approach. Head coach Almog Cohen is also holding both full-team and small-group meetings to explain, correct and instill the style of play he wants to see from the very first match of the season.

Almog Cohen told the players, “When things are easy, everyone wins. Everyone is the best player in the world. But when you get into deep water, that’s when you see how difficult it really is. I can see how hard it is for you, but we’ll go through it together. If you want us to reach the highest level, I dream big and I believe that every one of you can dream big too, then this is the moment. Not when things are easy, but when they’re hard. So we’ll stand together and run together like winners.”

So far, Beitar Jerusalem supporters have rushed to renew their season tickets, with more than 13,000 already doing so. Sales for new season ticket holders will begin tomorrow. The team is scheduled to return to Israel on Friday afternoon.
