As we head into the Under-20 European Basketball Championships, The Sports Rabbi will have an interview a day with some of the players on the team. Today Yam Madar joins us to talk about the competition and his young career to date:
“I am happy to be here and the fact that we can host the European Championships is really special. This will be a great experience for not only us the players but for the fans as well. I am sure that they will push us to play as best as we can.”
Preparing to perform:
“We are preparing in earnest to be able to perform to the best of our abilities and I hope that everyone will enjoy what we have to offer.”
Honor to represent Israel:
“It’s a huge honor to represent the Israel National Team and the country. We will ready ourselves as best as possible for this competition.”
A family affair:
“I grew up in Beit Dagan and I followed my brother Hof who also played basketball. I also have a sister by the name Medusa so we are quite the ocean family.”
Role model growing up?
“There isn’t one specific player who I really enjoy watching but there are a number. Kyrie Irving is a special player and how he carries himself on the court is one of many players that I appreciate.”
Being the best he can be:
“My dream is to be the best that I can be. Work out as hard as possible and look at what is in the present which right now is the European Championships.”
