One of the most intriguing names in the current Israel U21 squad is 17-year-old Orian Goren, who plays for Barcelona. Having previously represented Israel at the U17, U18 and U19 levels, Goren has earned his first call-up to the U21 team under head coach Guy Luzon, making the step up to the next level of international football at a remarkably young age.

Ahead of Israel’s match against Slovenia, Goren spoke about moving up to the Under-21 side, “We’ve been working really hard since arriving in Slovenia, preparing for the challenge ahead of us tomorrow. It’s a great feeling to be part of this national team. Moving up from the youth team to the U21s, where I’m now playing alongside older, more experienced players, is a big step for me. I hope we can show what we’re capable of tomorrow.”

Speaking about Slovenia, Goren added, “We know they’re a very talented team with strong, physical players who are older than many of us. But we’re not afraid of them. We’ve been working hard to prepare for this game and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
