Badash spoke to the Official Maccabi Tel Aviv website after signing for an additional year and said: “After joining Maccabi Tel Aviv a year and a half ago I am happy that the club has the confidence in me to continue to contribute for the upcoming season. I’m delighted that I can help the professional staff of the club reach the goals that they have set.” The 32-year old striker has scored 11 goals in 47 appearances since joining the club in February 2014.
The “Israeli Zlatan” will be Rada Prica’s replacement this coming year and along with strikers Eden Ben Basat, Barak Itzhaki and winger Tal Ben Chaim, Maccabi is expected to add another scorer up front as new head coach Slavisa Jokanovic likes having true #9’s to play with. Gael Margulies who had some spot appearances last year may or may not be an option for the club and time will tell with his advancement during training camp. Badash is a true character guy, a good teammate and someone who has made an impact on a number of different occasions for the club the past couple of seasons.
