Israel U20 National Team Completes Perfect Pre-EuroBasket Preparation with Four Wins

Israel’s Under-20 National Team completed a flawless preparation campaign by winning all four of its warm-up games and looking impressive ahead of next week’s FIBA U20 European Championship in Slovenia.

The Israel Basketball Association organized the warmup tournament in Latvia, bringing together several national teams to provide Israel with the best possible preparation for the championship. Over the four games, Israel defeated Georgia, Ukraine twice and wrapped up the tournament with a win over Estonia.

In the opening contest, Israel cruised past Georgia 99-44, with balanced scoring throughout the roster. Juul Karam led the way with 17 points in just 17 minutes.

Israel then faced Ukraine twice. In the first meeting, Israel earned an 86-67 victory behind 16 points from Rani Belaga and 14 from Ariel Sela. The second matchup ended in a 78-59 win, highlighted by an outstanding defensive performance while Aviv Henkin scored 13 points, Alon Danieli added 11 and Tamir Gold chipped in 10.

Israel concluded its preparation schedule with an impressive 96-67 victory over Estonia. The team got off to a slow start, trailing 10-3, but Alon Danieli and Ariel Sela helped erase the deficit, although Estonia still held a narrow 23-21 lead after the first quarter.

Israel took control in the second quarter, with Rani Belaga and Yonatan Keller leading the comeback. Juul Karam provided an excellent spark off the bench, helping Israel build a 51-40 halftime advantage. The momentum carried into the third quarter as the lead grew to double digits and remained there through the final buzzer.

Karam and Danieli led Israel with 15 points apiece, with Danieli also recording seven rebounds and four assists. Belaga finished with 13 points, eight assists and five rebounds, Oren Sahar scored 11 points and Sela contributed 10 points along with eight rebounds.
