Maccabi & Hapoel make an early European exit

Gran Canaria 108-61 Hapoel Jerusalem

Alen Omic led Gran Canaria in a dominating win over Hapoel with 18 points and a game high 17 rebounds. As a team Gran Canaria shot an impressive 64% from the field and outrebounded Hapoel by 17. Canaria also dished out 25 assists compared to Hapoel’s 10. Josh Duncan led the Reds disappointing performance with 14 points.

N.Novgorod 95-84 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Dmitriy Khvostov was three rebounds shy from a triple-double in Novgorod’s victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Novgorod took 3 more shots from three than inside the arc in the win, while Maccabi couldn’t hit theirs going a miserable 4-25 from 3-point land. Trevor Mbakwe had a double double for Maccabi with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Gal Mekel tied the game up with seconds remaining in regulation time and also helped out with 21 points of his own as the Yellow-and-Blue were knocked out of European competiton in the extra EuroCup overtime session.
