To find out more about what the fans can expect from Rashard Odomes, The Sports Rabbi was in touch with a number of former teammates who spoke about what the guard can offer:
Oklahoma teammates:
Kristian Doolittle: Rashard is a hard worker and a tenacious defender. He was always a good teammate and dependable as you could count on him to do his job and play within himself.
Jordan Sheperd: He’s a great teammate. He is someone who will do anything to help his teammate and is one of the most competitive people I have been around. He is a hell of a defender and slasher and I’m sure he’s expanded his game a lot since I’ve been his teammate.
Ty Lazenby: Rashard is the best teammate you’ll have. Shows up every single day, gives 110%. Hapoel Gilboa Galil got a very very good player. But Rashard is a team guy and is a true WINNER!
UMEA teammates:
Adam Presutti: I think what separates RO was his ability at his strength and size to move like a true guard. Very good in the ball screen and had such a strong ability to put pressure on the paint. Great decision maker and defensively could switch 1-4 consistently. Personality wise – one of the most unselfish and funny guys I’ve ever played with. Extremely selfless and for someone with as much talent as he had to be so unselfish for the team is an amazing character trait and rare to find in European situations. Hapoel Gilboa Galil is in for a treat 💪🏻
Rodney Williams: He’s a great young player! Rashard plays the game with a high level of intensity. He’s a great driver of the basketball and plays above the rim, which is great quality for wing player. He’s also a great teammate and plays winning basketball. I know he’ll do well in that league because he plays fast, strong and can score efficiently.
Kataja teammate Jamar Wilson: I think Rashard is not only a super explosive and highly energetic player, I think he’s a great teammate. He’s always smiling, he’s giving people energy and he’s definitely someone that feeds off of the crowd, so I believe that he would do nothing but well and goods things there. He’s a really loyal guy, plays really hard and just super energetic. Very crafty, has a natural scoring ability and is just one of those guys that just loves to be a warrior. He believes in himself and it’s easy for him to get people on the same train because he shows a lot of courage and I think that’s what people love to see.
