Oshae Brissett arrived in Israel to join Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2025-26 season and was all smiles as he was greeted by the fans at Ben Gurion Airport. The Syracuse product played close to 250 games in the NBA and won the 2024 championship with the Boston Celtics. Brissett, who hails from Toronto also plied his trade with the Pacers, Raptors and most recently the 76ers where he joined forces with a number of other new yellow-and-blue signings.
“I’m very excited to join Maccabi. Ever since I signed I’ve hearing that the fans are amazing and the crowd is amazing, best in the Euroleague. I’m excited to see that and to get going and of course win some games.”

Brissett also commented about why he decided the yellow-and-blue was the right match, “The first time I spoke to Maccabi I felt that they really cared about me as a player and that’s what I wanted. From the coach to the GM to all the guys who signed and who around the organization love each other and just want to play basketball and win games. To me that’s most important so coming over here wasn’t even a second thought.”
As for expectations, Brissett was straight and to the point, especially as an NBA Champion, “My expectations is to win a championship, to bring home all of the trophies that we can and do it in the Maccabi way where all the fans can appreciate and respect the team. I’m excited to get started and really hope for a championship.”
Brissett will be playing with a number of former teammates and familiar faces in Lonnie Walker and Jeff Dowtin Jr., “I’m excited as I signed first. I talked to them when they we thinking about it (joining Maccabi) so I am glad that we are all here and get started with practice and build some chemistry. I didn’t convince them, that was the team, but I talked to them and told them that I was excited and that we should play together. I feel that it helped out a bit but it’s all the team’s doing.”

As for what the fans can expect from the forward, he explained that he will do anything in order to give the team the best chance to win, “I’m a hard playing guy and someone who is going to show up every game and just give my all I want to do all the things to win and do no matter what it takes. Anything to win a championship.”
Of course, Brissett is looking forward to playing in front of the Maccabi fans, “I have heard nothing but great things and the best in Euroleague. So when I walked out here and got all of the love from these fans, it means a lot and I know it will be x1000 when we get to the arena.”
