State Cup Derby Final on tap as Maccabi and Hapoel advance to title match

Maccabi Tel Aviv blanked Maccabi Haifa 2-0 to punch their ticket to the State Cup Finals thanks to a brace by striker Itay Shechter. After a goalless first half Yellow & Blue captain Sheran Yeini sent Shechter a pass in the box that #10 promptly put behind Greens keeper Josh Cohen in the 51st minute. Less than the minutes later, Shechter completed his brace after he stabbed home an Eitan Tibi ball to wrap up the victory.

Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam 1-1 (7-6) on penalties to advance to the Israel State Cup final. Omri Altman opened the scoring in the 20th minute to give Nir Klinger’s team a 1-0 lead but Michael Chilaka put home a free kick in the second half to draw even. After a goalless extra time period, Raz Stain scored the Reds 7th penalty kick while Tomer Mahluf missed his to send Hapoel into the final.
