“Shout out to Mot, I have some decisions to make” Patrick Beverley opens up about Johnathan Motley, his own future at Hapoel TLV

With all kinds of off court distractions at Hapoel Tel Aviv with the departure of big man Johnathan Motley, the Reds star guard Patrick Beverley opened up on the topic on The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone about the situation as well as he thoughts about staying with the team.

“I came to Tel Aviv because I knew he was on the team. All of a sudden my boy hit us with a pump fake saying he don’t feel safe no more, leaves team. Unheard of. Our leading scorer and best big man in the EuroCup, I don’t feel safe anymore. Leaves team, wants to go to a Euroleague team in Serbia. So we are out here with no big man, just where do we go from here. Of course poeple ask me now, ‘Yo Pat what’s you going to do’?. Because NBA teams called and I can’t say who on the Pod, literally. NBA Teams told me I can’t say who, so I can’t. I want to but I can’t.

“Euroleague teams called me, Real Madrid called and a couple of other Euroleague teams out there to see if you guys are blowing it up because our big man scored 30 and left. 30 points and I’m out. He’s doing what’s best for him, what he thinks is best for him. There’s a way to do things but you don’t do it like that. Shout out to Mot. Got the bag, happy for you, see you down the line.”

As for his future plans, Beverley added, “I have been thinking a lot about what’s the next move, what to do, what to not do. Do I go back to the NBA? If I go back to the NBA do I turn my back on my team, that’s not my style, I don’t operate like that. I’m in it for the long run. I have some decisions to make and I am going to make the right ones like I always do. I have been truly happy here and they have been making sure, so we’ll see.”
