Hapoel Beer Sheva 0-1 Hapoel Ramat HaSharon
The surprise club of the year Ramat HaSharon continued its accenssion towards the top of the league with the help of Moshe Abutbul’s 3rd goal of the season. The victory propelled Ramat Hasharon into the Upper Playoffs and into 6th position with no chance of Beitar Jerusalem who play Maccabi Tel Aviv on Sunday night to catch them. This now gives them the opportunity to fight for a Europa League position over the last 10 matches where they will play the aforementioned Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa, Kiryat Shemona & Bnei Yehuda.
Maccabi Tel Aviv 5-0 Beitar Jerusalem
After being eliminated from upper playoff contention on Saturday evening by Ramat HaSharon’s victory, Beitar Jerusalem seemed to have absolutely no interest in playing against a Maccabi Tel Aviv squad that was looking for revenge from their State Cup defeat from a couple of weeks ago at the hands of Beitar. Maccabi came out with all guns firing as Muanes Dabur scored a brace, Eran Zahavi, Rada Prica & Eliran Atar all scored with Maharan Radi collecting 3 assists. Beitar looking towards their State Cup matchup with Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday night came out as flat can be at Bloomfield Stadium in front of over 12,000 Tel Aviv supporters. In the 76th minute most Beitar fans had seen enough and headed for the exits in defeat.
Hapoel Akko 0-0 Hapoel Tel Aviv
Hapoel Tel Aviv continued its poor form with a 0-0 draw at last place Hapoel Akko. None of the Tel Aviv players looked as if they were interested in playing as Omer Damari, Tal ben Haim & Elroy Cohen all looked lethargic under coach Freddy David. Akko’s Tamir Kahlon was the bright light for the home side as Akko looks to try and gain points to move themselves out of the basement.
Maccabi Netanya 1-2 Maccabi Haifa
In a great clash, the Greens from Haifa came up the big winners as Wiam Amasha slotted home an 81st minute penalty that left the club 7 points back of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The new Netanya stadium was rocking last night as both club’s fans, 9,000 of them were creating a great football atmosphere, especially when home side favorite Achmad Saba’a scored in the 23rd minute to put Netanya up 1-0. An own goal in the 29th minute leveled the score until referee Erez Fifer blew the penalty after a clear foul in the box by Netanya.
Hapoel Haifa 2-1 Hapoel Ramat Gan
In a bottom of the table battle, Haifa came up with the win as coach Nir Klinger’s club continues to look better each week as they have now moved up to 10th place. Guy Tzarfati & ‘keeper Kale Drechsler played well and goals by Liran Cohen & Danilo Nikolic brought home the 3 points. Ran Yitzhak’s scissor kick goal in the 12th minute for Ramat Gan was their hilight for the night.
Kiryat Shemona 2-0 Bnei Sakhnin
Reigning Champion Kiryat Shemona scored an easy victory over lackluster Bnei Saknin as they head into the upper playoffs after picking up points in their past 7 matches. Ahmad Abed scored in the 19th minute minute and Ghana native Osei Mawuli picked up his 1st goal of the season in the 89th minute to seal the victory.
Football Club Ashdod 2-1 Bnei Yehuda
David Revivo scored on a 61st minute penalty & man of the match Stefen Scepovic scored the winner in the 71st minute as Ashdod notched it’s first win in almost two months. Scoring for Bnei Yehuda was Pedro Galvan with his 10th of the season.
