Maccabi Ramat Gan dropped Hapoel Tel Aviv 94-81 as they continued to close in on the second place reds. Kyle Alexander and Braian Angola paced Hapoel Tel Aviv from the get go while newcomer Nuni Omot countered for Maccabi Ramat Gan but the Reds stayed in front 41-39 at half-time. Omot along with Mangok Mathiang, JP Tokoto and Itay Moskovits scored at will in the third quarter while Kendale McCullum and Adam Ariel also found points to hand Shmulik Brenner’s team the 13-point win. Omot scored 17 points, Tokoto added 16 points and Mathinag chipped in with 14 points in the win. Alexander scored 14 points as Angola and Idan Zalmanson scored 12 points in the loss.
Kiryat Ata outlasted Nes Ziona 101-96 in overtime as Raz Adam and James Batemon rose to the occasion to pick up the win for Sharon Avrahami’s squad. In a back and forth game, Ben Saraf put in a strong first half for the hosts while Rawle Alkins paced the visitors. However, with terrific play by from Batemon and Adam for Kirayt Ata and Isaiah Whitehead for Elad Hasin’s team the game headed into the extra session all knotted up at 88-88 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Adam was the main man while Batemon added points to give Kiryat Ata the 5-point win. Batemon scored 27 points, Adam added 26 points and Amin Stevens put in a 15 point and 13 rebound double-double in the win. Alkins scored 27 points, George King and chipped in with 14 points and Whitehead scored 13 points in the loss.
Hapoel Eilat nipped Hapoel Afula 67-65 as Elijah Stewart scored the winning bucket with 1.2 seconds left in the game to take the close win. JaJuan Johnson scored 17 points, Elijah Stewart added 15 points and Sacar Anim put in 13 points in the win. Tomer Assayag, Justin Briggs and Marcellus Earlington all scored 13 points in the loss.
In another thriller, Hapoel Haifa picked up their 10th win of the season as the Carmel Reds slipped by Bnei Herzliya 98-96 as Jon Davis starred to help the visitors take the win. Davis scored 27 points, Marcus Bingham added 22 points and Amit Simhon scored 19 points in the victory. Tyler Stone scored 24 points, Mike McGuirl added 19 points and Bryson Williams scored 18 points in the loss.
