“NBA level talent” – Who are you Galil Elyon swingman Jalen Hudson?

Oct 30, 2022 | Holyland Hoops

Jalen Hudson joined Hapoel Galil Elyon for the 2022/23 season as the 26-year old has been one of the most exciting imports to land up in the Holy Land so far in the young campaign averaging 21.7 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes per game. The swingman attended Virginia Tech as well as Florida for college with his best season coming in his first year with the Gators in 2012/18 when he averaged 15.5 points per game whole going deep at a 40% clip. After playing in the G-League, Hudson headed to Europe where he featured for Bonn and then Larissa this past season where he averaged 13.1 points and 5.3 rebounds.

To learn more about Galil Elyon’s swingman just ahead of their clash with Nes Ziona, The Sports Rabbi was in touch with some of his former teammates to find out what makes Hudson tick:

Virginia Tech teammate: Shane Henry: Jalen Hudson or Jhud was the most gifted of us all in college at VT. He has a great heart and work extremely hard. He cares for his teammates as they are his brothers and does his best to make sure everyone is appreciated. He can win your heart both and off the court. Plays both ends and has relentless energy. Definitely a guy you want on your side and will forever be my brother.

Florida teammate Keith Stone: He’s a great teammate to be around brings energy and can score when he gets the opportunity or gets hot I enjoyed playing with him and college.

G-League teammates:
Ike Iroegbu: J HUD is extremely athletic. Really good at putting the ball in the basket and is an instant offense type of player.

Jalen Jones: Jalen is a very talented player who can score in bunches… sneaky athletic and can shoot the ball very well. He’s got NBA level talent and also a very great teammate!

Bonn Teammate Isaiah Philmore: I can tell you that he is a great player but an even better teammate. He is ready to work and wants to win over anything else. The team is first in his mind then he is second! Loved being on the team with him and would love to be on a team with him again.

Larisa teammate Stefan Moody: Well to begin, he became one of good friends since I arrived in Larissa, Greece this past season. If there was anything I needed from bro, he’d get me together for sure and that energy was returned to him as well as a mutual level of respect was shared very early tbh. A great off the character without a doubt and the reliability factor is huge. It’s hard to trust people nowadays to be honest.

As far as his game, he was a great player to have on my wing. With time he became one of my favorite wing players that I’ve had in my career. Given size & transition-speed, ability to space the floor from 3, and without question a specialist attacking the rim. I’m sure as he continues to play and gain experience, there will be an even greater version of him. Evolution is one of Gods greatest gifts to the world my guy. I personally would stamp that any team would be lucky to have him on their roster.
