The reigning Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al champ fell away to Maccabi Haifa at Sammy Ofer Stadium thanks to the winning goal by new signing Sintiyahu Sallalich in the 48th minute. Nikita Rukavytsya opened the scoring while Omer Damarion closed the game with a 90th minute strike. Dan Einbinder scored the lone marker for the visiting Beer Sheva side.
Kiryat Shemona 1:2 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Omer Atzili scored both Maccabi goals as they defeated Kiryat Shemona at the Acre Stadium on Matchday 2 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al. Nigel Hasselbaink pulled a goal back for the hosts in the second half but the Yellow & Blue took home the 3-points prior to the international break and will welcome Bnei Sakhnin to the Netanya Stadium on Matchday 3 in two weeks.
Beitar Jerusalem 4:1 Ashdod
The visitors scored first via Viktor Genev but an untimely red card to Nir Bardea did them in as Giorginho, Yossi Benayoun, Yakov Brihon and Antony Varene all found the back of the Ashdod goal to give Beitar the 3-points and the win.
Maccabi Petah Tikva 0:2 Hapoel Haifa
Alon Turgeman and Maxim Falashenko scored for Nir Klinger’s side as the move to 2-0 on the young season.
Maccabi Netanya 2:2 Hapoel Acre
10 man Acre shocked the hosts with a 91st minute goal via Amran Alkrinawii to split the points as Amit Bitton who collected the red card scored in the first half. Dan Glazer and Diaa Sabia scored for Netanya.
Hapoel Ashkelon 1:1 Bnei Yehuda
Tal Ayala scored for the hosts while Almog Buzgalo found the back of the goal for Bnei Yehuda as the side’s each picked up one point.
Bnei Sakhnin 2:1 Hapoel Raanana
Sagas Tambi and Idan Shemesh scored for Sakhnin who were playing their home match in Acre while Ali Kamara scored to the losing Raanana side.
