Maccabi wins in Romania, Beitar & Beer Sheva both draw away

Pandurii 1:3 Maccabi Tel Aviv

The Yellow & Blue picked up three away goals in the first leg of their 3rd round Europa League qualifying match in Romania. Tal Ben Chaim scored in the first half, but Pandurii drew even before the half. However, Nosa Igiebor’s header couple with a Dor Micha strike gave Maccabi a 3:1 victory.

Jelgava 1:1 Beitar Jerusalem

Idan Vered scored his first goal since coming back to Israel, but a second half home side strike by Vitālijs Smirnovs helped the first leg end in a draw as the second leg will take place in Jerusalem on Thursday August 4th.

Olympiakos 0:0 Hapoel Beer Sheva

A goalless draw in Athens was exactly what the doctor ordered for Beer Sheva boss Barak Bachar as the second leg of their Champions League third round qualifier will take place in the southern capital this coming week.
