Maccabi Tel Aviv Wins the Toto Cup, Nes Ziona BC moves on in Europe Cup Qualfying, Rishon beats Herzliya in Winner Cup action

1) Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Haifa 2:1 to capture the Toto Cup at the Moshava Stadium in Petah Tikva. Omer Atzily opened the scoring but Mohammed Awaed drew the Greens even before the break. However, Eliran Atar scored a magnificent goal in the 85’ to give the Yellow & Blue their second straight Toto Cup!

2) ‪Nes Ziona moved on in Europe Cup Qualifying as they defeated Södertälje in their two game series (172-143) winning the second game in Sweden 100-76. ‬Mickell Gladness scored 22 points, Tal Dunne added 18 and Daequan Cook added 13 going 3/3 from deep. Nes Ziona will play Cluj in the 2nd Round of Qualifying on October 3rd.

3) Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion defeated Bnei Herzliya 91-76 in Winner Cup quarterfinal action. Rishon played without Egor Koulechov who didn’t receive permission from the IDF to participate in the game but Cameron Long (17p/13a), Itay Segev (16p/10r) and Oz Blayzer (17p) all picked up the slack. Jeff Adrien (19p) and James Robinson (18p) led Herzliya.
