Maccabi Tel Aviv wallops Galil Elyon, Holon and Raanana both win

Maccabi Tel Aviv walloped Hapoel Galil Elyon 108-51 in a clash that was never close as youngster Oren Sahar starred for the yellow-and-blue in the first game that took place after the players strike. Will Rayman scored 24 points and Sahar added 22 points in the win.

“It can’t be taken for granted that we have been able to keep such a good record throughout the season,” Maccabi Head Coach Oded Katash said. “It’s due to the great character of the team and the positive body language as well as good energy that we showed while also plying solid defense. As for Oren, he’s a very good player who hasn’t had many opportunities this season which is not his fault as it’s tough to integrate every player. We’re proud of him.”

Hapoel Holon downed Elitzur Netanya 108-95 as Darin Green led the way for the Purples who had six players in double digits to take the victory. Green scored 25 points while Kevion Taylor and Lior Carreira both scored 17 points in the win while Otis Frazier scored 30 points in the loss.

Maccabi Ranaana bested Nes Ziona 92-70 as the hosts grabbed a slim lead after the opening quarter and then opened up a double digit gap by halftime to cruise to the win. Matt Coleman scored 22 points and Joaquin Szuchman added 17 points in the victory while Spencer Weisz scored 13 points in the loss.
