Maccabi Tel Aviv slipped by Hapoel Jerusalem 2-1 thanks to a late goal by Osher Davida to move to 3-0 on the season and collect yet another 3-points. The yellow-and-blue grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first half via Roy Revivo on a give and go with Gaby Kanichowsky, but despite a red card to Yao Eloge early in the second half, Yonatan Laish scored the equalizer for the reds in the 84th minute. However, Davida found the winner off a Revivo assist to snatch all of the points late in second half injury time.
“It’s an amazing feeling to win like this,” Maccabi bench boss Zarko Lazetic said. “Congratulations to the players, also to Hapoel Jerusalem for a tough game and all of the games will be like this in the future. I’m happy that we won, against Bucharest we lost in the last minute and I’m sure there will be more games in the future that will decided in the 90th minute.”
“We believe in the team,” Jerusalem head coach Ziv Ari said. “We will look for the points against Bnei Reineh which should be an easier game than this one was. We have a good squad and we are satisfied with the club so we won’t be bothering too much with the transfer window, which is Shay’s (Aharon) job which he always does well.”
