Maccabi Tel Aviv fell to Bodo Glimt 3-1 as the yellow-and-blue dropped to 29th place in the Europa League standings with very little chance of moving onto the elimination rounds of the competition with just one game left next week against Porto at their home away from home in Belgrade, Serbia. Dor Peretz opened the scoring to give Zarko Lazetic’s team a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute but Kasper high headed home a free kick just ahead of the break top knot the game up at 1-1. Hakon Evgen scored the go ahead marker early on in the second half while Hogh slotted home his second goal of the game this time from the penalty spot to wrap up a 3-1 win.

“We met a great team that was in good shape,” Lazetic said. “Once again, we encountered an opponent that took advantage of set pieces against us. The third goal was the one that essentially ended the game for us. We didn’t have enough players available to think about the game against Maccabi Haifa. We treat every game as one that is important and we have a big game waiting for us on Monday.”

Perez spoke about the defeat, “There is no doubt that this is a very high-quality team, well-trained, the weather, the pitch, of course we are not used to it but that is no excuse. They were superior to us and they deserved the victory. We did our best but they won and we need to move forward and win the next game in the league.”
