Maccabi Tel Aviv Championship Book & DVD!

Yesterday I had the privilege to take two of my three boys (one is at his grandparents in Canada) along with my wife to a great Maccabi Tel Aviv event that took place at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv/Yaffo. The happening was to launch Maccabi’s Championship book & DVD which was celebrated by fans, players & management on this warm summer day!

From top to bottom, Maccabi Tel Aviv continues to prove how to run a proper organization on and off the field. As we arrived an hour early to ensure our spots in line we could already see that the staff was getting prepared for this one of a kind promotion! Maccabi representatives handed out cold water to the early comers and some reps recognized our family from the time we stopped by the training site last year and met with team sporting director & former Barcelona player Jordi Cryuff.

For this special day Maccabi discounted the book & DVD by 20 NIS and the combo was only 99.99 NIS for the fans that came to this spectacular event. But not only did the fans walk away with this special package, they were able to meet 5 stars of the club which included, Captain Sheran Yeini, Yoav Ziv, Rada Prica, Gal Alberman & Eran Zehavi! What a treat!

The Maccabi Mascot mingled with the crowd as the fans were able to not only get autographs from the stars, but also took pictures and spoke to them as well.

Does it get any better when a player asks your son some how they are and where do you live? The players were genuinely interested in their fans who usually only get to see them on TV or in the stands running around a pitch!

I also had a chance to introduce the family to Maccabi’s terrific press office Ofer Ronen, and media personalities Raanan Baranovsky among others!

For The Sports Rabbi it was a chance to see his boys enjoying the best of sports and what sports should be. And yes, I even had a chance to take a picture with Alberman & Zehavi too!

One of the other opportunities that I had was to speak with Jack Angelides, owner Mitch Goldhar of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s representative . This was truly an honor and a privilege to speak to Mr. Angelides about Maccabi, the wonderful year the club had and how Maccabi is first class club and truly cares about its fans. He was especially proud of the event and the release of this special keepsake!

My wish for Football Israel is that all the other clubs can take Maccabi’s lead and learn what needs to be done to continue to bring the level of football in Israel to higher and higher levels! I am looking forward to this season!
